How to Play Valiant Stables

New Player Handbook

Welcome to
Valiant Stables

Adopt and raise horses, care for their needs, decorate them, discover their pedigrees, play games, shop, sell, and trade with other stable owners.

Your first goal: get to know your horse, keep it fed and watered, help it mature, and begin building the stable you have always wanted. There is no single “right” way to play.

Getting Started

Visit My Horses. This is your private stable list and the quickest way to reach each horse’s management page.
Open a horse. You can see its image, level, care information, decorative layers, trade status, statistics, and available actions.
Care for it. Feed and water your horse regularly. Check its condition before breeding or entering activities.
Explore. Visit the shops, inventory, public horse pages, games, market, forum, and trading area.

Pedigrees

Each pedigree can follow parents and ancestors back as many as ten generations, with horse images and links to their public pages.

Levels & Maturity

Levels show a horse’s progress. Some features unlock at higher levels; backgrounds require level 3, while toys may be used earlier.

Tip: If a horse is missing from a trade picker, open its management page and make sure its Trade Status is set to For Trade.

Feeding, Watering & Daily Care

Horses have needs that should be checked regularly. Open the horse’s management page and use its care controls to feed or water it. The page records its current care condition so you can tell what needs attention.

Feed

Use food when your horse is hungry. Keeping hunger in a healthy range helps you maintain a happy stable.

Water

Give water when thirst rises. Check both food and water rather than relying on only one.

Pat & Visit

Public pages let people visit and pat horses. Share a horse’s public link when you want friends to meet it.

Check Often

Before breeding, selling, or planning activities, check the horse’s level, age, health, and other requirements shown by the site.

Shops, Valbucks & Inventory

Valbucks are the site currency. Use them in shops and the marketplace. Purchased items are placed in your inventory until you use, sell, or trade them.

The General Store

General-use items live here, including Maturity items that can set an eligible horse to level 3.

Background Bin

Scenery placed behind a horse. A horse must be at least level 3 before a background can be equipped.

Toyshoppe

Toys appear in front of a horse. Toys can be equipped even before level 3.

Decor

Decorative foreground items such as flowers can be positioned around the horse.

How to use an item

Buy the item from its shop. Make sure you have enough Valbucks.
Go to Inventory and find the item.
Choose Use, then select the horse that should receive it.
For décor or toys, open the horse’s management page to move or resize the equipped foreground layer and save its position.
Nothing is lost when unequipped: removing a background, toy, or décor layer returns that item to its owner’s inventory. Replacing a background also returns the previous background.

Decorating Your Horse

A horse display is built in layers: the background is behind the horse, the horse is in the middle, and toys or décor are in front.

Apply a background, toy, or décor item from Inventory.
Open that horse under My Horses and enter its management page.
Drag a foreground item to the position you want. Use the size control when you want it larger or smaller.
Save the arrangement. The same layered design appears in stable lists and public horse pages.
Background rule: horses below level 3 cannot equip backgrounds, but they may still have a toy.

Buying & Selling Horses

Buying from the Horse Market

Open the Horse Market and review the available listings.
Check the horse, seller, and Valbucks price carefully.
Choose Buy and confirm. The Valbucks are paid to the seller and the horse joins your stable.

Selling one of your horses

Open the Horse Market and choose the option to list one of your horses.
Select the horse and enter a fair Valbucks price.
Review the listing before publishing it. While waiting, you can see it under My Listings.
If you change your mind before it sells, cancel the listing to return the horse to normal stable use.
Market vs. Trade: use the market for a straightforward Valbucks sale. Use Trades when two members want to exchange particular pets, items, and possibly Valbucks.

Helpful Stable-Keeper Tips

  • Check names, prices, quantities, and both sides of a trade before confirming.
  • Mark only horses you genuinely want to exchange as For Trade.
  • Remember that one selected inventory entry sends one copy of that item in a trade.
  • Use public horse links when sharing horses; private management pages are for their owner.
  • Keep some Valbucks available for care items, shop discoveries, and market opportunities.
  • If an action cannot be completed, read the message carefully—it will often identify a level, ownership, funds, or eligibility requirement.
